Google Places is a search facility that allows people to view businesses by location. It activates when someone specifically searches for geographic information using Google. All you need to do is create a Google account and enter your business details into the Google Places page. Once you confirm your identity as the true owner of the business, your entry will be finalized. Your Google listing will not only show your contact details and address, but also your location on the map, customer reviews, photos and product and services information. This information can be very detailed and will assist greatly in advertising features of your business.

Additionally, if your business attracts great reviews from happy customers, these will be displayed on your profile, which will make your listing especially appealing to potential customers. It is advisable, however, not to solicit reviews from customers as this is actively punished by Google.
